The Oscars predictions - Avatar loses Best Picture to The Hurt Locker

The 82nd annual Oscars are now less than 12 hours away! The excitement is building as fans are speculating what will take home the big award for Best Picture, who will win the Best actor awards and what the stars will be wearing at the show. Tonight's official Oscars 2010 date and time are March 7, 2010 at 8PM EST/5PM PST. The Oscars begin with the red carpet special at 8, followed by the awards show at 8:30PM. There's also a Barbara Walters interview special scheduled for 7PM EST which will feature Mo'Nique and Sandra Bullock. The Oscars 2010 edition will air on ABC and is to be hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, which should make for some funny segments.

The Best Picture category will feature a whopping ten nominees for the top flick in 2009. They are Avatar, A Serious Man, An Education, Blind Side, The Hurt Locker, District 9, Up, Up in the Air, Inglorious Basterds and Precious. It's unsure which one will take home the big prize at the end of the show, since several of these movies have won the award at other awards shows.

Among the actors and actresses nominated for their work are some Hollywood icons in Morgan Freeman, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock and Matt Damon. Jeff Bridges is the sentimental favorite to win the Best Actor Oscar, while Sandra Bullock has claimed Best Actress at several other awards shows.

Now that the Oscars 2010 date and time are scheduled, you can have the popcorn ready, turn on ABC and watch all the glitz, glam and emotion of the awards show. The Oscars usually run past 11PM EST, so if necessary set your DVR to record the full show!
